Notes

From 1971-1995, Kelsey-Tisdale was a provincial electoral district in east-central Saskatchewan (now part of the Melfort and Carrot River Valley districts). In this volume, Stewart Ross chronicles the Co-Operative Commonwealth Federation and (later) New Democratic Party’s political activities in the region. He opens by describing his work with the CCF in Kinistino (west of Tisdale) in the 1930s and 1940s. After Ross moved to Hudson Bay (east of Tisdale), the focus shifts to the Melfort and Tisdale areas. Ross recounts canvassing, campaigning, and fundraising, connecting party platforms to local needs. The volume also includes short biographies of federal, provincial, and local CCF/NDP figures, district maps and election results, and commentary on the CCF’s evolution into the NDP. Reprinted memorabilia, photographs, and continuous reference to area businesses and residents provide local flavour throughout. No publication date indicated, but the Dedication's content makes a publication date of 1993 or later probable.
