Notes

This volume tells the history of Bethany Mennonite Church in Watrous, Saskatchewan. Prepared by the Anniversary Committee (Helen Kornelsen, Jacob Panktratz, Gertrude Regier, Niela Regier, and Pete Willms), the book traces the congregation's history from its inception at a 1932 house meeting through a new building's erection in the early 1950s to the 50th anniversary celebration in 1982. The volume contains sections covering the church's ministers, baptisms, education programs, church groups, and national/international outreach. Through comments on conscientious objectors, German vs. English services, and immigration to Canada, the book also provides a glimpse into mid-century Mennonite life on the prairies. Includes a membership directory as well as a photo section documenting current membership.
