Notes

Although Jacob G. Janzen appears as the sole author, this history of Warman, Saskatchewan includes contributions from Leonard Doell, L. Hildebrandt, D. A. Loewen, Ed Nasserden, and Phyllis Gooding Smith. The volume begins with a biography of Warman's namesake (American journalist Cy Warman) and a history of the town that emphasizes growth and change. Chapters chronicling the history of specific families, as well as recollections of local sports, follow. The volume ends with sketches of early settlement in the region and a historical summary of Warman community life (including schools and churches). Lacking the widespread input of area residents found in community histories, the book nevertheless balances personal stories and regional history.
