Notes

From 1974 to 1977, the Saskatoon Region Special Services Project implemented and evaluated a special education services model in rural communities within three Saskatchewan school divisions: Saskatoon (East) No. 41, Saskatoon (West) No. 42, and Rosthern No. 49 (now amalgamated as Prairie Spirit No. 206). Part 1 of the project's report offers a comprehensive explanation of the project. It outlines the evaluation plan and its context, the method of gathering input from educators, the process of implementing a model recommended by the Standards for Educators of Exceptional Children in Canada (SEECC), and a subsequent evaluation of outcomes.
Part 2 of the project's report focusses on implementing special education services in pre-schools, proposing a "Parent-Professional Partnership" model. This volume offers a final report of the planning, implementation, and results of that partnership, followed by a long section detailing the training program that parent partners underwent.
