A biographical account of Ezzrett “Sugarfoot” Anderson (1920–2017), an American-born athlete and entertainer who became a long-standing figure in Calgary. Born in Arkansas and educated at Kentucky State University, Anderson was a multi-sport athlete who played professional football in the United States and Canada, including six seasons with the Calgary Stampeders from 1949 to 1954. He was among the early Black players to integrate professional football and later settled permanently in Calgary.

The book traces Anderson’s varied career, including his work as a professional football player, film actor in Hollywood productions, radio host, musician, and businessman, as well as his life in Calgary following his playing days.
