Notes

Written by Toronto Star sports editor Jim Proudfoot, this volume takes a look at the state and prospects of 18 teams participating in the 1974-75 National Hockey League [NHL] season (including two then-new franchises, the Kansas City Scouts and Washington Capitals). For each team, Proudfoot provides a swift - sometimes blunt - analysis of their 1973-74 performance, highlights players and factors to watch in the 1974-75 season, comments on approximately 10 players, and lists the team's roster. The book also includes chapters explaining hockey's rules, outlining the World Hockey Association's teams (many of which are now NHL teams), and chronicling the Philadelphia Flyers' emergence as NHL champions in 1973-74. The volume ends with team/league statistics for the 1973-74 season and lists of all-star/hall-of-fame player selections.
