Volume One. This book is the first in a two-volume community history of Saskatchewan's Rural Municipality of Prairie Rose #309. The volume begins with an account of settlement in the region, historical overviews of the hamlets of Jansen and Esk, and topical chapters on local schools, churches, sports teams and organizations, and transportation/communication/utilities. Family histories collected from area residents with surnames A-L follow (with surnames L-Z appearing in Volume 2).

Volume Two. This book is the second in a two-volume community history of Saskatchewan's Rural Municipality of Prairie Rose #309, including the hamlets of Jansen and Esk. Since historical overviews and topical chapters covering regional life appear in Volume 1, this volume begins with family histories submitted by area residents with surnames L-Z (surnames A-L appear in Volume 1). The final 70 pages contain lists of homesteaders and landowners, an Honor Roll, and a collection of miscellaneous reminiscences and articles. Includes index.
