Moose Jaw Murders and Other Deaths

In this volume, Bruce Fairman (author of several books on Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan’s history) recounts 49 stories of murder or death that occurred in Moose Jaw between 1883 and 2004. Drawing on newspaper accounts, court transcripts, autopsy reports, and interviews, Fairman describes the unusual circumstances of death and subsequent police investigations. Not all deaths described are the results of murder (for instance, Fairman describes a 1954 airplane crash), and some sections cover adjacent topics such as cemeteries and haunted houses. Stories vary considerably in length in accordance with available information.
