Notes

Developed as curriculum tools, this five-volume set of “Métis Development and the Canadian West” booklets examine the role of the Métis in western Canadian history. The volumes trace growing legal, political, and – finally – military conflict between the Métis and settler governing bodies, beginning with the arrival of the European fur trade and culminating in the 1885 North-West Resistance. As educational titles, the booklets includes lists of vocabulary, questions, and recommended readings, as well as endnotes and a bibliography. In order, titles are "Contrasting Worlds," "Changing Times," "Petitioning for Rights," "Conflicting Plans," and "Ending an Era." No publication dates indicated, but “North West Centennial 1885-1985” badging on back covers makes a publication date of 1985 or later likely.
