Notes

Printed in honor of Marion Gilroy (Superintendent of Saskatchewan Regional Libraries, 1946-1963). In this volume, Canadian author Max Braithwaite chronicles the development of Saskatchewan's regional library system (the first in the prairie provinces). He incorporates lively anecdotes of prairie life, discussing the challenges and rewards of providing library access to remote and small communities. Gilroy's work establishing the North Central Regional Library (centered in Prince Albert) features prominently. A readable, often humorous, tribute to Saskatchewan's library system. No publication date indicated, but an "In Memorium" portrait page indicates that Gilroy's 1981 passing occurred before publication.
