Laird and District History Book : A Story of Perseverance, Prayer, and Progress

This volume contains a community history of the town of Laird (in Saskatchewan’s Rural Municipality of Laird #404) and its surrounding districts. The volume opens with a brief historical overview of homesteading in the area, along with census and tax information from the 1910s. Topical chapters on local schools and districts, Protestant churches (esp. Mennonite), services and infrastructure, sports and leisure, politicians, and memorable events appear as well. The book’s largest section is composed of family histories contributed by area residents. Includes index and Honour Roll.
