Notes

This book offers a look at pioneer life in the Weyburn, Saskatchewan area beginning c.1890s. Relying on anecdotes told to Ivol Krueger (former Matron of a Weyburn senior citizen home) from the region's "real pioneers" and their descendants, the book describes agriculture, religion, education, transportation, and indigenous-settler relations (iii). It also includes reflections on the Depression and both world wars. Throughout, the volume emphasizes the importance of Christian faith in pioneer life. While the final chapter ends with a "July 29, 1967" annotation, other chapters refer to events occurring as late as 1977, making the likely publication date 1977 or later.
