Notes

Compiled from sources gathered or solicited by Swift Current's Local Council of Women, this volume presents Swift Current, Saskatchewan's history from initial settlement until the mid-1950s. It begins with descriptions of pioneer and homestead life, followed by historical overviews of local schools and churches. Later chapters cover Swift Current's incorporation as a hamlet (later, town) in the early 1900s, chronicle local clubs and organizations (including sports teams and bands), assess changes in local healthcare, and outline the (then-)current population and amenities. While no family histories appear, the text contains contributions by several dozen local individuals.
