“Geneology [sic] of the Bergen Family” contains family trees showing the descendants of Abraham Bergen (b. 1786) and his wife (nee Thiessen, 1782-1867), both born in “possibly Prussia.” The volume opens with a short historical summary of Mennonite migrations from Russia to North and South America in the 1870s and 1920s. The remainder of the book contains family trees showing birth, marriage, and death dates for Bergen descendants living in Canada (primarily Manitoba and Saskatchewan) as well as the United States, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Occasional excerpts from family history books or biographical comments appear, and family photos accompany the text in some places.
