Published by the Saskatchewan Museum of Natural History (now Royal Saskatchewan Museum) in the 1960s and 1970s, the "Popular Series" booklets provided brief overviews of Saskatchewan's geographic and biological features. This volume (#17) describes the dunes, woodlands, grasslands, and wetlands found in Douglas Provincial Park (on Lake Diefenbaker, south of Saskatoon). The volume includes line drawings, checklists, and descriptions of common plants, animals, fish, and insects that inhabit the park, as well as a geological and human history of the area. While no publication date appears, the bibliography includes a book published in 1977 and Popular Series #18 appeared in 1978, making a 1977 or 1978 publication date likely.
