Notes

The author served as Clerk Of The Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly for twenty years. He writes in the Preface, "... The Legislative Building has special meaning for me and my family as well, for I worked there for twenty years as Clerk of the Legislative Assembly. Throughout that time I never lost my sense of awe and admiration for the visionaries, architects, and workers who designed and built such a magnificent edifice. While walking down its halls, I would often see a sculpture, design or gargoyle that I had not noticed before and would marvel anew at the intricate detail of the building and its furnishings. ..."
The "awe and admiration" the author feels for the Legislative Building shine in this tribute to one of Canada's architectural treasures. Rich with photographs and archival documents, Gordon Barnhart tells the story of Saskatchewan Premier Walter Scott’s "greatest legacy".
