Notes

This pamphlet contains a brief 1965 election message from Bob Thompson – the leader of Canada’s Social Credit Party – for residents of Saskatchewan’s Mackenzie electoral riding. Catering to the party’s strong provincial showings in Western Canada while acknowledging the unlikeliness of a federal victory, Thompson describes Social Credit support as a protest vote and himself as strategically positioned in a minority government. This pamphlet encourages Prince Albert residents to vote for John Dashchuk in their Mackenzie riding. A piece of political memorabilia from the tail end of Thompson’s Social Credit career, and an implicit testimony to the challenges that the party faced in the wake of its French-English language split.
