Notes

This volume contains an account of the Frog Lake Massacre (part of the 1885 North-West Resistance) by survivor William Bleasdell Cameron (1862-1951, a Hudson's Bay Company clerk at the time). Cameron's sympathetic account first appeared in 1926 under the title "The War Trail of Big Bear." This 1950 edition of Cameron's account includes a new title, two new chapters, and textual revisions but contains fewer illustrations and maps than earlier editions. Portraits of key figures appear throughout. Peel(3) 1359.
