Notes

This biography chronicles the creative and personal life of Canadian author James (here, "Jim") Sinclair Ross. Stouck uses close readings of Ross' works, archival sources, and interviews to discuss and contextualize Ross' literary challenges, prairie affiliations, personal struggles, and sexual identity. Of particular note is Stouck's personal communication with Ross: through conversations and correspondence, Ross commented on archival documents that Stouck found and commented on early drafts of the book. Laid in the front endpapers are a single-page press release, as well as a typed note indicating that this copy was sent out as a review copy.
