Notes

Alongside John Mitchell and Jack S. Clayton, Harold C. Moss conducted soil surveys of Saskatchewan in the early/mid-1900s as a joint effort of the University of Saskatchewan and government bodies. In this slim volume, Moss provides an overview of soil profiling and soil profiles in the province. He explains how soils form, discusses the elements that make up a soil profile, and briefly outlines the National Soil Survey Committee’s classification system. The volume's largest section includes profiles of eight soil types in the province (including their desirability for agriculture).
