National Museum of Canada Bulletin No. 90, Anthropological Series No. 23. Diamond Jenness (1886-1969) was a Canadian anthropologist who studied Inuit and First Nations groups and worked at the National Museum of Canada for more than 20 years. In this volume, Jenness recounts the findings of his 1921 study of the Sarcee (Tsuut’ina Nation) people of southwestern Alberta. Combining historical sources with ethnographic observations, he describes Sarcee social structure, rites of passage, rituals, and religious beliefs in the past and present.
