Notes

A photographic record of the early development of the province’s resource sector, seen through the work and perspective of Dr. John Andrew Allan. A professor at the University of Alberta, the first chairman of its Department of Geology, and the inaugural director of the Alberta Geological Survey, Allan was closely involved in the formative years of mineral and energy exploration in the province.

The volume brings together images dating from the early 1910s through the early 1940s, documenting field work, and exploration sites.
