Qu’Appelle: Tales of Two Valleys is the catalogue published in conjunction with a major touring exhibition examining the Qu’Appelle Valley as both a physical landscape and a cultural idea within Canadian art. Bringing together historical and contemporary works, the exhibition traces how the valley has been interpreted—as place, memory, and myth—by artists working across different periods and traditions.
Curated by Dan Ring and Robert Stacey, the project was presented at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario (March 2–May 5, 2002), before travelling to the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon (June 14–September 2, 2002), and concluding at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina (September 27, 2002–January 12, 2003).
With essays by Dan Ring, Robert Stacey, and Trevor Herriot.
