Notes

Prince Albert: The First Century 1866–1966 is a centennial history of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. It traces the city’s development from its founding as a Presbyterian mission in 1866 through cycles of growth and decline. Positioned between prairie and forest, Prince Albert had early promise as a commercial and transportation hub, but setbacks like the bypassing of the transcontinental railway and failed projects (notably the La Colle Falls dam) hindered its progress. Despite missed opportunities, the book highlights the resilience of its people and institutions over 100 years of civic, economic, and cultural change.
