Notes

A history of St. Patrick’s Catholic Orphanage in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, from its establishment in 1900 in the former Convent of the Faithful Companion of Jesus to its closure in 1973. The book chronicles the orphanage’s development under the direction of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the arrival of British Home Children, the establishment of its farm, the role of the Sisters of Charity and other religious communities, and the fire of 1947. It also documents the rebuilding of the orphanage, its subsequent operation and eventual closure.
