Completed in the final year of Montgomery’s life, The Blythes Are Quoted stands as the author’s valedictory work, and the true conclusion to the Anne of Green Gables cycle. 

Though submitted for publication in the early 1940s, the manuscript remained unseen for decades. A heavily reduced version, reconfigured as The Road to Yesterday, appeared in 1974, its editorial alterations masking much of the original design.
It was not until the publication of this Viking Canada edition that Montgomery’s complete text was at last presented as she intended.
