Notes

Exhibition catalogue issued for the National Gallery of Canada. Ira Dilworth contributes a biographical portrait of Emily Carr (1871–1945), followed by Lawren Harris’s commentary on her paintings and drawings. Carr, who lived in Victoria, British Columbia, is noted for her original interpretations of the West Coast landscape and, at times, for her depictions of Indigenous life, art and craft.
